Supporting new ways of working
What a new approach can do
If successfully integrated into your approach, participatory design (involving a spectrum of local people throughout the stages of design) can make a real difference to the process, costs and outcomes of your project(s). It can help you:
- develop schemes that bring economic and social benefit to your organisation and to local people
- develop schemes that are better used and more easily managed and maintained
- develop better relationships and partnerships with local people
- reduce risk and save you valuable time and money by preventing lengthy disputes and delays in planning
How we help
The Glass-House can work with you to embed a culture of participatory design into your organisation/partnership through:
- developing a shared awareness and understanding of participatory design (its opportunities and challenges)
- building staff skills around design quality and design impact
- helping you develop clear policies and practice to support participatory design processes within your organisation and projects
- building staff skills around delivering participatory design processes
The Glass-House will work with you to develop a tailored package of support that is right for your organisation. This will include both strategic work with senior members of staff and workshops to help all relevant staff and project teams explore how a new approach can support their work.
