Promoting Community Led Design
Community Led Design is a growing movement and The Glass-House is keen to see it evolve, grow in strength and impact and become an accepted approach by communities and professionals alike.
We want to get people talking about community led design
- exploring the benefits and challenges of local people leading change to their areas
- sharing stories of what has worked, and what has not
- exploring practical approaches to participatory design
- looking at the role of quality design informed by local knowledge in the long-term sustainability of a neighbourhood
We create opportunities for people who do not often come together, to promote discussion and healthy debate and to encourage and support interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration. We also hope to seize opportunities to influence policy and practice using our experience and that of the groups we have supported over the last decade.
The Glass-House hosts events, such as our national Debates series, and works with a number of partners to integrate our workshops and seminars into their programmes. Get The Glass-House at your event.
We also sit on a number of panels and steering groups, and are always looking for new opportunities to promote and support good design led by local people.
