We were delighted to hear that Gamlingay Eco Hub, an early project supported by The Glass-House has won a major award for its innovative and green design.

At the Architect of the Year 2012 Awards, civic Architects, the designers of the new space received the Environmental Excellence Award.

For ten years this south Cambridgeshire community worked together to achieve a suitable multi-purpose community facility for their area. A 1970s village hall was recast and transformed, with a commitment to creating a sustainable future. The building costs nothing to run as it incorporates innovative energy saving technology including solar water heaters and ground source heat pumps and recycled materials were used to make the space as low impact as possible.

Congratulations to civic Architects and Gamlingay community on being recognised with this award!
