Young Spacemakers, Norwich
Date: 28 & 29 October 2010
Time: TBC
Venue: TBC
Fee: FREE
The Glass-House is offering Young SpaceMakers, a FREE practical design course for groups of young people aged 14-17, who are passionate about their neighbourhood and would like to see how their input can make their local area a better place to live.
This is a hands-on course for young people in community groups, who are in the early stages of regenerating a communal space, park or play area in their neighbourhood. The course provides a practical exploration of the design process of an open space, and enables participants to apply design skills to the space they are working on.
The Young SpaceMakers course will allow young people to:
Look more closely at their local area from an urban design perspective
Visit inspiring ideas
Develop creative skills through model making and drawing
Explore who the other people are who might affect the project and how best to communicate with them
Work up an action plan for their project to take back to their neighbourhood
Hurry! Places are limited - so book soon! Deadline for applications is Monday 11 October.
To apply please complete the form below. If you don’t have internet access and would like to have a form mailed to you, or you would like more information about the course then please contact Maja Jorgensen at The Glass-House on 020 7490 4583 or maja@theglasshouse.org.uk
