Would you like to make physical changes your neighbourhood? Interested in sustainability?
The Glass-House Community Led Design is providing a free two-day design training course, delivered by Urbed  .
This hands-on course is for community groups, who want to make their neighbourhood or parts of them more sustainable. You could be:
Neighbours looking to share transport
A community setting up your own recycling initiative
A community looking to get your power from a local renewable resource
A community looking to become a Transition Town group
Or any other group involved with or interested in being involved in sustainable development of your neighbourhood
The course provides a practical exploration of the elements that make up your neighbourhood and ways to involve your community in developing an action plan to implement sustainability initiatives through design. On this EcoNeighbourhoods by Design course you will:
Work with design professionals on your project
Visit inspiring spaces and play projects and meet the people who made them happen
Look at where power, food, and services come from how and are used
Explore means of sourcing renewable energy
Look at how design can make your neighbourhood more energy efficient and enjoyable
Explore ways to involve young people and adults from your local community
Discover the potentials and the pitfalls of your site
Develop an action plan to take your project forward
Create a presentation of your ideas to take back and share
