The Glass-House Community Led Design
The Glass-House is a registered charity that supports and encourages better working partnerships between communities and professionals who are working together to improve the quality of a neighbourhood. The Glass-House works nationally, offering design advice, training and project support to projects focussing on neighbourhoods, housing, public space, community buildings, play areas and facilities for young people.
Since 2001, The Glass-House has supported a community led design process that ensures that regeneration is happening with and for, not to local people.
Our objectives
Provide communities with the tools to lead the design process
Give design, housing and regeneration professionals the tools to work more effectively with user groups on the design of regeneration projects that affect them
Promote a wider understanding and practice of community led design
Put design at the top of the agenda
Upcoming design training
We are running our popular Young Spacemakers programme over the summer. This is an activity an design-based course for groups of young people aged 14-17 years to build skills, confidence and creativity. The aim of this course is to enable young people to have a real say in neighbourhood regeneration. Please visit the Design Training  page for more information.
